Some people have the bliss of having been born in a country where the great Autumn, forms part of the four seasons. This wasn't my case. Luckily, in 2009, I had the wonderful opportunity to see the autumn for the first time, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, London.
I may be exaggerating a bit when I mention how magnificent I find London, but I do love it. The reason I love it so much is because of its incredible large parks and green areas. I am a nature lover. As a nature lover I used to admire, in pictures, the beauty of the orange/brown falling leaves. However, seeing them there, falling on my lap… it's been a magic experience.
I lived five consecutive autumns in London. During those days of rain, I infinitely enjoyed looking through the window at the phenomenon! Of course I will never forget that experience: I wrote tons of poems, I discovered certain secrets about the process of life.
Everyday I spent hours hypnotised by the curious way in which trees lost their leaves, which in some way are their clothes. How they became vulnerable, naked; they actually seemed to me weak, but I knew it was only a matter of time before they were going to get their leaves back, green, fresh, brand new.
There is a moment for everything: a moment to grow, a moment to love, a moment to create. Nevertheless, we need to be patient, we must wait for the right season to flourish, and when the moment of loosing our leaves comes, we must remind ourselves that this is temporary, that we will be strong again as long as our roots are firmly planted. Above all, we must be grateful for the capacity for transformation.
Let's embrace the autumn, the colours, and the romantic and poetic atmosphere that it brings.
I am experiencing my second autumn in Moscow right now; I am loving it! I know that in a few days the parks will be orange, yellow, brown; all of these are my favourite colours.
I want to capture the moment, lying in parks on a bed made of leaves. Taking pictures. Writing poems and more.
How do you welcome autumn? What is the activity that you love to do in this season?
I would love to read about your experience. Lets also give the opportunity to other readers to feel the magic of autumn through our stories.
